Leapmotor has launched its new B10 SUV in Morocco, giving buyers a new electric option with a starting price of MAD 269,000. The B10 went on sale on 16 July and is the first model in the company’s new B series to reach the country.
The SUV is built on Leapmotor’s LEAP 3.5 platform and uses a Range Extended Electric Vehicle (REEV) system. The wheels are powered only by an electric motor. A 1.5 litre petrol engine works as a generator to recharge the battery and never drives the wheels.
The B10 has an 18.8 kWh battery that offers up to 86 kilometres of electric driving. With the range extender, the total driving range reaches up to 900 kilometres.
The SUV comes with a 14.6-inch HD 2.5K touchscreen, a fully digital dashboard and remote controls through the Leapmotor app. Owners can lock and unlock the car, start the air conditioning, check charging status and receive over-the-air software updates.
Safety features include seven airbags and 17 advanced driver assistance systems. The B10 is also designed to meet five-star Euro NCAP safety standards.
Leapmotor sells the B10 in one Design trim. Buyers can choose from five exterior colours and two interior finishes. The launch colour is Starry Night Blue.
Leapmotor entered the Moroccan market through a partnership between Stellantis Morocco and Sopriam, which distributes the brand through its dealer network.
The company says its REEV technology is designed for drivers who want an electric vehicle but may not always have access to charging stations on long trips.
Leapmotor currently sells three models in Morocco.
The T03 is a fully electric city car with 95 horsepower. It starts between MAD 195,000 and MAD 200,000.
The new B10 starts at MAD 269,000.
The C10 is a larger family SUV with the same REEV technology. It produces 215 horsepower, offers up to 145 kilometres of electric driving and a combined WLTP range of up to 974 kilometres. Prices start at MAD 335,000 for the Style trim, while the Design trim costs between MAD 345,000 and MAD 370,000.
Leapmotor vehicles are available at Sopriam showrooms in Casablanca, Bouskoura and Rabat.
