Porsche has started showing its new all-electric Cayenne to customers across Morocco before the SUV officially goes on sale.
The roadshow stopped in Tangier, Casablanca, Marrakech and Agadir before heading to the UTAC test centre in Oued Zem. Fourteen new owners of the Porsche 911 and 718 took part in a driving event, while Moroccan racing driver Omar Benhayoun tested the SUV on both the track and off-road.
The new Cayenne Coupé Electric keeps the look of the Cayenne but adds a lower roofline inspired by the Porsche 911. It is 4.985 metres long and 1.98 metres wide. Boot space ranges from 534 to 1,347 litres, with an extra 90 litres of storage under the front bonnet.
Its streamlined design gives it a drag coefficient of 0.23 and helps it reach a driving range of up to 669km under the WLTP test cycle.
The standard Cayenne Coupé Electric produces 408hp and goes from 0 to 100km/h in 4.8 seconds. The Cayenne S Coupé Electric increases power to 544hp and completes the same sprint in 3.8 seconds.
The Turbo Coupé Electric sits at the top of the range. It produces 857hp, rising to 1,156hp with Launch Control. It can accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in 2.5 seconds and has a top speed of 260km/h.
Adaptive air suspension with Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) comes as standard to improve handling and ride comfort.
The cabin features Porsche’s latest digital system. Drivers get a fully digital instrument display and a central Flow Display. Buyers can also choose a front passenger screen and an augmented reality head-up display.
A lightweight Sport package is available for customers who want a more performance-focused model. It includes a carbon fibre roof, 22-inch wheels, performance tyres and extra carbon fibre parts, cutting weight by up to 17.6kg depending on the version.
The roadshow continued through Porsche dealerships in Casablanca, Marrakech, Tangier and Agadir. The SUV was also displayed at the Royal Golf Tangier during the Fairmont Morocco Golf Cup.
The new Cayenne Electric is now available to order in Morocco.
