Oncorad Group is preparing to open a new cancer clinic in Tetouan as construction enters its final stages.

People in Tetouan will soon have access to a new cancer clinic as Oncorad Group gets ready to open its latest facility in the city. Construction is now in its final stages. Several contractors are still working on the site to finish the building and prepare it to start receiving patients. Oncorad has not given a specific opening date but says the clinic will open soon.

The new facility will expand the group’s cancer care network in northern Morocco. Oncorad already runs a specialised oncology clinic in Tangier.

The Tetouan clinic is expected to give patients in the city and nearby areas easier access to cancer treatment. Some patients currently travel to Rabat or Casablanca for certain treatments. Others travel abroad.

Oncorad has not yet released details about the number of beds, the total investment, the medical equipment or the treatments that will be available at the new clinic.

The company was founded in 2000 by Prof. Redouane Samlali and Dr Omar Hajji. Samlali is now its chief executive.

Oncorad operates three main healthcare brands: Littoral Clinic, which focuses on cancer care; Oceanic Clinic, which provides several types of medical care; and Vital Radiology, which provides medical imaging.

The group raised 458m dirhams ($45m) from French impact investor STOA and CDG Invest Growth. Its wider investment plan can reach 2bn dirhams, including debt and real estate. The group has also set out a 3.5bn-dirham expansion roadmap.

Oncorad currently has about 400 beds. It plans to increase that number to more than 2,800 across the country. The group aims to have 12 clinics in the short term and 30 facilities in the longer term.

“Our goal is to improve the quality of life for our patients, wherever they are, by offering personalized, innovative, and accessible quality care,” Prof. Samlali said.

The group has also invested in technologies such as robotic surgery systems, linear accelerators, brachytherapy machines, PET-CT scanners and AI-based medical imaging.

In late 2024, Oncorad completed a robotic prostatectomy between Casablanca and Shanghai, covering a distance of about 12,000km.
