AKDITAL has opened a new academy to train its staff as the healthcare group continues to expand across the country. The AKDITAL Academy was launched on 11 September. Its first group includes about 50 employees working in operations and administration.
AKDITAL has 10,256 employees across 45 facilities in 26 cities, with 4,864 beds. Since the start of 2026, 362 new employees have joined the group.
The academy will train new staff, help current employees improve their skills and prepare some employees for new management and operational roles.
Courses will include classroom lessons, practical training and work experience. The group will also offer online courses and use experienced employees to train their colleagues.
More departments will join the programme over time, including paramedical staff.
AKDITAL already runs a large training programme. In 2025, it organised 462 training sessions covering 326 subjects. A total of 2,703 employees took part, with 41,822 hours of training delivered.
The new academy is part of the group’s wider expansion plans. AKDITAL added 359 beds in the second quarter of 2026 and plans to reach 59 facilities in more than 29 cities, with more than 6,000 beds, by 2028.
The group made MAD 2.48bn ($250m) in revenue in the first half of 2026, up 19% from the same period last year. It recorded 590,842 patient admissions, compared with 514,118 a year earlier.
Mourad Benhammacht, AKDITAL’s secretary general, said: “Investment in human skills must evolve at the exact same pace as our investments in physical infrastructure. This mechanism will allow us to proactively cultivate the expertise required to fulfill the future operational demands of our healthcare facilities.”
Prof El Houcine El Ouardi, former health minister and senior adviser to AKDITAL, said: “Quality of patient care depends simultaneously on the technical qualifications of our clinical and operational teams and their ability to continuously refine their practices in a fast-evolving sector.”
AKDITAL has been listed on the Casablanca Stock Exchange since December 2022 under the ticker AKT. It is also expanding outside the country, including through a partnership in Saudi Arabia.
