US auto parts maker Veritas has finished building a new factory in Tangier. It is the company’s first factory in Morocco and Africa. The factory is in the Tangier Free Zone and covers about 5,000 sq m. Production space accounts for 3,835 sq m. Production is due to start in the third quarter of 2027.
The plant will make components for vehicle cooling, fluid management and thermal control systems. It will also have equipment for extrusion, a manufacturing process used to produce parts with a fixed shape.
Veritas is setting up the plant to work more closely with carmakers and automotive suppliers in Morocco and North Africa.
The company has not said how much it is investing in the project. It has also not disclosed how many jobs the factory will create or how much it will produce each year.
HDT-Veri-Automotive-Morocco SARL will run the factory. The company was set up in 2026 and is based at the Tangier Free Zone.
Jawad El Mirawi will lead the plant. He has more than 18 years of experience in the automotive industry, including operations, supply chains and factory launches.
The company is now preparing to build its local team before production starts.
Veritas is based in Livonia, Michigan, and supplies rubber, plastic, aluminium and steel parts for cooling, fluid management and climate-control systems. Its products are used in petrol and diesel cars, hybrids and electric vehicles.
The Tangier factory brings Veritas’s global manufacturing network to 13 plants. Its other factories are in the US, Germany, China, Canada, Italy, Mexico and Poland.
The new factory adds another international supplier to Tangier’s growing automotive industry. The city is home to major vehicle assembly plants and a large network of parts manufacturers.
The investment also follows a wider trend among car-parts suppliers to produce closer to vehicle factories. Shorter supply routes can help companies reduce transport times and meet the tight delivery schedules used by carmakers.
