Abdellatif Hammouchi, Director General of National Security and Territorial Surveillance, held talks on Monday afternoon in Rabat with Vittorio Pisani, Director General of Italian Public Security, who is visiting the Kingdom at the head of a significant security delegation.
The two leaders reviewed various security threats and current international crises and their potential impacts on the safety of both Morocco and Italy. They also discussed the dangers of transnational crime, including human trafficking, irregular migration, drug trafficking, money laundering, and the proceeds of criminal activities.
This meeting provided an opportunity to assess the outcomes of cooperation between the two countries in various security domains and to address issues of mutual interest related to police work.
With a mutual commitment to strengthening security cooperation, Hammouchi and Pisani explored ways to enhance bilateral coordination in operational cooperation and the exchange of expertise and technical assistance.
This meeting is part of efforts to bolster international security cooperation mechanisms with the security agencies of friendly and allied nations. It aims to activate bilateral and multilateral cooperation channels to neutralize terrorist threats and combat various forms of transnational crime.
