The 22nd edition of the “L’Boulevard” music festival, a celebration of urban culture, will take place from September 12 to 15 at the R.U.C stadium in Casablanca, announced the organizing association EAC-L’BOULVART.
This year’s festival promises an array of exclusive concerts, a creative and associative market, and various activities. A highlight of the event is the iconic Tremplin L’Boulevard music competition, for which applications are now open, according to a statement from the organizers.
The competition is aimed at Moroccan artists and bands, or those based in Morocco, and spans three categories: rap/hip hop, rock/metal, and fusion/other contemporary music. Interested groups are encouraged to submit their applications via the festival’s website by July 7.
Selected candidates will have the chance to perform on the L’Boulevard stage, and the six winning groups (two from each category) will receive a six-day technical and artistic training. Each first-place winner in their category will be awarded 10,000 DH, and all laureates will have the opportunity to record a track in a professional studio.
Every year, L’Boulevard receives around 300 demo submissions from diverse genres, all evaluated by a jury. Since its inception in 1999, nearly 620 young bands have had the opportunity to perform at L’Boulevard.
This festival not only showcases musical talent but also fosters a sense of community and creativity, making it a cornerstone of Casablanca’s cultural landscape.
