The healthcare services in Al Hoceima province have taken a significant leap forward with the opening of the Mohammed VI Provincial Hospital Center. This new-generation facility, with a capacity of 250 beds, is set to redefine healthcare standards in the region.

Equipped with the latest in medical and biomedical technology, the hospital features advanced digital systems for managing patient medical records, enabling healthcare professionals to access data instantly. This advancement aims to enhance the quality and efficiency of the healthcare services provided.

Among its cutting-edge equipment, the hospital boasts an MRI machine, next-generation ultrasound devices, and other state-of-the-art medical tools.

The Mohammed VI Provincial Hospital Center is designed to ensure high-quality healthcare access for citizens, particularly with the expansion of compulsory health insurance (AMO).

During a press visit to the hospital, Mohamed El Yeznasni, the provincial delegate of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection in Al Hoceima, emphasized that the opening of this modern healthcare facility reflects King Mohammed VI’s dedication to improving the social dimension of citizens’ lives in Al Hoceima province. Since his ascension to the throne, the King has focused on enhancing healthcare infrastructure and diversifying basic health services to bring them closer to the people.

El Yeznasni highlighted that the hospital represents a substantial investment of 609 million dirhams (MDH), including 30 MDH for studies and technical control, 409 MDH for construction, and 170 MDH for equipment. This investment is expected to significantly improve the quality of medical services provided to the citizens.

The new facility will serve over 500,000 residents, offering integrated healthcare services within Al Hoceima province and the region. The hospital is equipped with top-tier technology, including MRI, and all necessary hospital and technical services for such an establishment. A multidisciplinary medical team will deliver the various health services.

Mohamed Tasmart, head of administrative and financial affairs at the Mohammed VI Provincial Hospital Center, stated that this hospital is a valuable asset for Al Hoceima. It offers specialties and a surgical department equipped with the latest technology, providing hospital services of a high standard, comparable to university hospitals.

He noted that the gradual transfer of patients from the Mohammed V Provincial Hospital to the new Mohammed VI Provincial Hospital Center began on Wednesday. There will be no shortage of nursing staff as the Ministry of Health and Social Protection has been reinforcing human resources to meet specialty needs since 2022.
