Agadir, the jewel of southern Morocco, has once again proven its appeal by securing a spot among the world’s most budget-friendly package holiday destinations for summer 2025. According to a recent study by the British consumer organization Which?, this Moroccan seaside resort ranks as the second cheapest travel destination, just behind Dalaman in Turkey.
The survey analyzed prices for 5,590 package holidays offered by major travel providers such as Jet2holidays, Tui, and easyJet Holidays for January 2025. Researchers calculated the average cost of a seven-night stay for two people, including flights, with departures around August 2—peak holiday season. The results revealed that Agadir offers an enticing price point of £900 per person (approximately 11,060 Moroccan dirhams), securing its place as an attractive yet affordable getaway.
Why is Agadir such a budget-friendly destination?
Agadir’s affordability can be attributed to its low-cost flight options and competitively priced accommodations, particularly its wide range of Bed & Breakfast (B&B) offerings. The only destination surpassing Agadir in affordability is Dalaman, Turkey, with an average package cost of £859 per person.
But it’s not just the price that makes Agadir a standout choice. The city boasts year-round sunshine, a mild climate, and a stunning 10-kilometer stretch of golden sandy beach. It’s a dream destination for those seeking a relaxing vacation with a mix of leisure, gastronomy, and cultural exploration—all without breaking the bank.
How does Agadir compare to other destinations?
The Which? report compared Agadir to various popular European beach destinations, including those in Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, France, Greece, Iceland, Italy, Malta, Montenegro, Portugal, Spain, and Turkey.
When it comes to all-inclusive travel deals, Spain leads the pack. The Costa Blanca region secured the top spot with an average weekly price of £1,113 per person, closely followed by the Canary Islands, where Fuerteventura and Tenerife offer packages at £1,146 and £1,189, respectively. In total, Spain dominates the affordability rankings, with five of its coastal destinations making it into the top 10.
Greece, on the other hand, features only one destination—Zante, which offers week-long stays at an average cost of £1,266 per person.
