AKDITAL Group has announced the acquisition of Polyclinique Laâyoune and Al Hikma Medical Center, marking a significant step in strengthening healthcare services in Morocco’s southern regions, particularly in Laâyoune.
Al Hikma Medical Center, with a capacity of 76 beds, is a multidisciplinary facility offering a full range of medical services, including consultations, radiology exams, biological analyses, and surgical procedures. Already operational, it plays a key role in providing accessible healthcare to the local population.
Polyclinique Laâyoune, a major private medical institution with 240 beds, offers a wide range of specialties, including cardiology, oncology, neurology, pediatrics, and orthopedic surgery. Its state-of-the-art surgical unit and 24/7 emergency services make it a key player in hospital care in Laâyoune.
This acquisition aligns with AKDITAL’s national strategy to expand private healthcare services and ensure equal access to medical care, particularly in remote regions. It also supports Morocco’s efforts to implement universal health coverage (AMO) and contributes to the modernization of the country’s healthcare system.
Already operating in 19 cities across Morocco, AKDITAL manages 33 healthcare facilities with a total of over 3,747 beds, solidifying its position as a leader in the private healthcare sector. With this expansion, the group now provides hospital coverage in all 12 regions of Morocco.
The acquisition of Polyclinique Laâyoune and Al Hikma Medical Center is subject to approval by the Competition Council. Once finalized, it will enable AKDITAL to further its commitment to delivering high-quality, accessible healthcare throughout the country.
