Alstom names Martin Vaujour to lead key emerging markets division

Alstom has appointed Martin Vaujour to lead its Africa, Middle East, and Central Asia region, a key strategic area for the company. He will officially step into the role on June 1, 2025, and join the company’s executive committee at the same time.

The leadership change comes amid a broader internal restructuring. Vaujour takes over from Andrew DeLeone, who will now head the European division after overseeing several significant developments in the AMECA region. Alstom praised DeLeone’s work in what it described as a particularly demanding environment.

Vaujour is no stranger to emerging markets. Since joining Alstom in 2009, his career has taken him across various global operations. He started out in Moscow, eventually managing the Russia-CIS division. From 2016 to 2020, he served as CEO of TMH-International, overseeing business in the Middle East, Africa, Central Asia, and Latin America. Upon returning to Alstom’s headquarters, he played a critical role in integrating Bombardier Transportation into the group, later leading mergers and acquisitions and investor relations.

His background combines deep financial expertise with senior leadership experience, positioning him for increasingly strategic roles within the company. He is a graduate of ESCP Business School in Paris.

As head of the AMECA region, Vaujour will now oversee one of Alstom’s top priorities. Operating in 64 countries, the company is betting on sustainable mobility solutions to support the global push toward decarbonized transport.
