OCP Africa is expanding its footprint in Southern Africa through two strategic partnerships in Zambia, aimed at advancing a more sustainable and efficient agricultural future.
The first agreement was signed with Zambia’s Ministry of Agriculture. It focuses on empowering local farmers by offering specialized training and promoting smarter fertilizer use based on precise soil analysis. The plan also includes introducing digital tools such as agronomic mapping and geographic information systems, enabling farmers to make better-informed decisions and maximize crop yields.
The second partnership, struck with the state-owned Industrial Development Corporation, will lead to the development of a pilot farm designed to test customized fertilizers tailored specifically to Zambian soil conditions. The project also includes a groundbreaking initiative to produce green ammonia using renewable energy sources. This dual focus—enhancing productivity while minimizing environmental impact—reflects a broader commitment to sustainable development.
