Brahim Ahabbane is the new general manager of the International Bank for Mali (BIM-SA), a subsidiary of the Attijariwafa Bank group. Before settling on the banks of the Djoliba, Ahabbane was credit manager in Congo and deputy general manager of Attijari Tunisia. The one who now presides over the destiny of the BIM-SA is a former member of the Group who spent more than 27 years of his professional life within this bank.

Holder of a diploma of the normal cycle of the ISCAE-Casablanca, option finance in 1994, completed in 2000 by the superior cycle of management of the same Institute, Brahim Ahabbane climbed all the levels. On September 1, 1994, he joined the group as an internal auditor in the General Audit of Operations and Procedures. In 1996 he joined the newly created Financial Market Department as head of the Markets Department.

The new head of BIM-SA has also participated in numerous projects in the Moroccan market, including the modernization of the Casablanca Stock Exchange, the creation of the first mutual funds, the reform of the money market, the creation of the Central Depository…

He contributed to the launching of many activities within the Attijariwafa Bank Group, notably the activity of intermediary in Treasury securities, the UCITS, the investment advice, the passage of the Group to the IFRS standards and the setting in conformity with the Basel II standards.

Other points of his touch are his participation in many structuring projects such as the 2004-2006 strategic plan of the Group, the merger project between Banque commerciale du Maroc and Attijariwafa Bank as well as the creation of the internal control function within the company.

Between 2006 and 2009, Ahabbane was entrusted with the responsibility of the Support and Risk Management function of the Markets and Investments Bank. In this department, he took part in the implementation of the market risk management system and the monitoring of all capital market, asset management and stock market intermediation activities.

In 2009, he was appointed Director of the Program for the transformation of the operational model of market activities within the Group and the implementation of a new information system.

In 2012, Brahim Ahabbane was seconded to Tunisia to take up the position of Deputy General Manager of Attijari Tunisia, successfully participating in the development of this bank’s activities and its outlets, by leading several structuring projects.

During the time of his presence in Tunisia, this bank has been ranked the best bank for five consecutive years. In 2018, he was appointed General Manager of Credit du Congo where he spent 3 years before joining the International Bank for Mali (BIM-SA) on June 1, 2021.

Aged 52, Brahim Ahabbane is married and has two children. He replaces Mohamed El Ghazi, who was transferred to Côte d’Ivoire.
