EWANE ASSETS, in partnership with CDG INVEST, has launched an international architecture competition to design the future Startup Campus at Casa Anfa—a bold, forward-looking project where innovation meets heritage and sustainable urban planning. Backed by a 300 million dirham budget (excluding tax), the competition offers Moroccan architects registered with the National Order of Architects a rare chance to shape a space that aims to position Casablanca as a continental leader in entrepreneurship and startups.
The new campus will rise on the historic grounds of the former Anfa airfield, a site steeped in memory that’s now being reimagined as part of Casablanca’s broader urban renewal. Casa Anfa is being developed as a showcase for modern, eco-conscious architecture, and this 13,324-square-meter project will be a key piece in that vision. The goal is to transform a former industrial zone into a vibrant hub of creativity, tech innovation, and collaborative life—all while honoring the city’s architectural legacy.
The campus will include several distinct elements: dedicated startup and innovation spaces, a lively open food hall, and sleek corporate zones. The design brief calls for a delicate balance—integrating historic preservation with contemporary construction. Shortlisted teams entering the second phase of the competition will be expected to bring a bold architectural vision that bridges past and future, history and modernity.
Backed by CDG INVEST, EWANE ASSETS, 212FOUNDERS, and the AUDA, the initiative reflects the CDG Group’s broader commitment to inclusive and sustainable economic growth. The project is about more than just buildings—it’s about creating a living ecosystem that inspires, supports, and connects the next generation of innovators.
Given the complexity and cultural depth of the project, organizers are encouraging applicants to form multidisciplinary teams capable of delivering a rich, integrated approach. Submissions are open until Friday, April 11, 2025. Interested candidates can request the competition guidelines for the first phase by contacting [email protected].
Through this competition, Casablanca is making a clear statement: the city believes in its youth, in its potential, and in its role as a future hub of innovation in Africa.
