With the 2030 World Cup on the horizon, Ryanair is setting bold targets for Morocco, aiming to double its passenger traffic in the country to 30 million, up from its current 15 million. This ambitious growth plan is underpinned by the airline’s deepening footprint across the Kingdom.
Speaking during a ceremony at Madrid-Barajas Airport—marking a major milestone of 200 million passengers flown in the Spanish capital—a Ryanair spokesperson outlined the airline’s vision for Morocco. In a landmark development, Ryanair has become the first European carrier to operate domestic flights within the country, a significant moment for Moroccan aviation.
The Irish low-cost giant has made no secret of its growing interest in Morocco, a market that has quickly become one of its most dynamic. Ryanair says it’s pleased with the rollout of its domestic network, pointing to smooth operations and strong demand as proof of the strategy’s success.
In collaboration with Morocco’s National Tourist Office, the airline is now exploring the launch of new routes—particularly to the southern provinces, a region still underserved by air travel but increasingly important as Morocco prepares to co-host the 2030 World Cup.
Leveraging its strategic position, Ryanair plans to play a key role in regional mobility. The Morocco-Spain-Portugal air corridor, where Ryanair is already active, is emerging as a vital travel link. The airline hopes to streamline movement across this zone ahead of the tournament, anticipating a surge in both tourism and logistics that will accompany the global event.
