Cameroon wants to take inspiration from Morocco’s experience in promoting the social conditions of its citizens, especially people with disabilities, children in difficult situations and the elderly, said, Tuesday in Rabat, Cameroon’s Minister of Social Affairs, Pauline Irene Nguene.

During her talks with the Minister of Solidarity, Social Integration and Family, Aawatif Hayar, the Cameroonian official said her visit to Morocco aims to share experiences and expertise in promoting the social conditions of citizens, including people with disabilities, children in difficult circumstances and the elderly.

Ms. Nguene hoped to continue and intensify cooperation between Morocco and Cameroon, in the coming years, to serve the interests of the two brotherly countries, noting that her country seeks to seal an agreement with Morocco to strengthen technical cooperation in the field of social matters.

For her part, Ms. Hayar stressed that talks with her Cameroonian counterpart were an opportunity to share visions on the importance of investing in the human element as a pillar of social development, within the framework of the Strategic Vision of HM King Mohammed VI, the New Development Model and the government’s program aimed at strengthening the pillars of the welfare state.

Ms. Nguene is very interested in visiting projects and social centers in Morocco, she noted, adding that Cameroon also attaches importance to the pioneering experience of Morocco, especially the National Initiative for Human Development (INDH).

“During this week, we will visit several social centers, especially those dedicated to people with disabilities to inquire about the possibilities offered for their integration. We will also visit other centers dedicated to the elderly and care of children in Morocco, ” Ms. Hayar said.

The Moroccan official reviewed with her Cameroonian counterpart, the important experience of the Kingdom in human development and social welfare centers.

During this meeting, the two parties discussed projects aimed at promoting the conditions of citizens and social development.
