Casablanca Mohammed V International Airport has taken a major step forward in transforming passenger experience with the inauguration of a fully redesigned departure esplanade. This initiative, part of the “Airports 2030” strategy launched by the Moroccan Airports Authority (ONDA), aims to streamline departures and elevate service quality.
Travelers can now be dropped off directly on the first-floor departure level, where six dedicated gates guide them swiftly—within two minutes—to their airline’s check-in counters. Modern signage, dedicated lanes, and informative totems ensure smoother navigation.
“The goal is to enhance passenger flow and simplify the departure process,” said airport director Hicham Rahil. “With this new setup, passengers avoid unnecessary checkpoints and gain quick access to the terminal.”
Key improvements include revamped road markings, enhanced lighting, and a reorganized traffic flow separating drop-offs and pick-ups. In early March, outdated entrance inspections were removed, followed shortly by the introduction of automated passport gates. Since March 30, public spaces at the airport have also reopened to companions, creating a warmer, more accessible environment.
