Morocco’s tech scene is entering a new phase of growth, with fresh momentum coming from a strategic partnership announced during the third edition of GITEX Africa. Telecom operator inwi and APEBI, the country’s leading tech industry federation, have joined forces to support the expansion and digital transformation of small and medium-sized tech businesses across the country.
The agreement, formalized through a memorandum of understanding, lays the groundwork for a structured support system tailored specifically for Morocco’s tech SMEs. The goal is to connect these companies with real-world business opportunities both within Morocco and in global markets, helping them scale and thrive in an increasingly digital economy.
This initiative arrives at a time when digital innovation has become essential for companies seeking to stay competitive. By leveraging their combined networks and areas of expertise, inwi and APEBI aim to provide tech SMEs with the tools they need to grow commercially, access new markets, and strengthen their technical capabilities.
A key part of the agreement is the creation of a targeted support program designed to help these businesses participate in large-scale development projects, whether driven by public institutions or private-sector partners. This effort aligns with the national “Digital Morocco 2030” strategy, which places innovation and digital sovereignty at the core of the country’s economic development agenda.
For inwi, the partnership reinforces its longstanding commitment to digital inclusion and entrepreneurship. The company is offering a full suite of services—ranging from cloud and cybersecurity to connectivity and digital solutions—designed to meet the unique needs of startups and small businesses.
This support is also reflected in inwi’s flagship initiative, “inwi innov,” which has already helped more than 2,600 young entrepreneurs and enabled over 250 startups to bring their ideas to market.
From APEBI’s perspective, the collaboration is a key step in its mission to shape a tech ecosystem capable of nurturing the next generation of innovation. By teaming up with an established player like inwi, the federation is strengthening its role as a driver of digital transformation and a champion of entrepreneurial growth.
Beyond formal commitments and statistics, this partnership signals a shared long-term vision: to make digital technology a cornerstone of sustainable, inclusive, and future-focused economic progress in Morocco.
