Police officers from the Al-Fida Mers-Sultan security district in Casablanca arrested, on Wednesday, a 30-year-old sub-Saharan for his alleged involvement in a robbery attempt with violence inside a money transfer agency.

According to preliminary data from the investigation, two nationals from a sub-Saharan country have attempted to commit a robbery using knives inside a money transfer agency, located downtown, said the National Police (DGSN), noting that an employee of the agency was slightly injured.

The immediate intervention of a police officer who was responsible for organizing traffic near the scene of the incident has led to the apprehension of one of the two suspects and seize the knife used in this attack, said the DGSN in a statement.

The suspect was placed in police custody for the investigation conducted under the supervision of the public prosecutor’s office to clarify the ins and outs of this crime, while search is continuing to identify and arrest the second suspect, the statement concluded.
