Centrale Danone has announced the appointment of Hervé Orama Barrere as the new CEO, effective July 1, 2024. Previously, Barrere served as the General Manager of Danone South Africa, with his role expanding to include sub-Saharan Africa at the beginning of the year.
Barrere’s career includes leadership roles in Algeria and Nigeria, highlighting his strategic expertise and deep understanding of African markets. Known for his integrated approach to sustainability and profitability, Barrere is set to bring his extensive experience to Centrale Danone.
Hervé Orama Barrere takes over from Nathalie Alquier, who led Centrale Danone from 2019 to 2024 and will now take on new responsibilities within the group. During her tenure, Alquier strengthened Centrale Danone’s market leadership and enhanced its social and environmental responsibility initiatives.
