At the next Moroccan national team gathering, head coach Walid Regragui will have a new rising star at his disposal: Chemsdine Talbi, the talented Club Bruges forward, who has opted to represent Morocco after previously playing for Belgium’s youth teams.

Born on May 9, 2005, in Sambreville, Belgium, Talbi has had an impressive development path. A quick and explosive right winger, he started at AFC Tubize before joining Club Bruges’ academy in 2015. His rise has been rapid—after excelling with Club NXT, Bruges’ second team in Belgium’s second division, he was promoted to the first team in February 2023.

Talbi previously wore the Belgian national team jersey, representing the Red Devils at U15, U17, and U19 levels. However, after months of discussions, the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) successfully convinced him to switch his sporting nationality and commit to the Atlas Lions. This marks another significant addition for Walid Regragui, as he continues to build a competitive squad for future challenges.

With his speed, dribbling ability, and attacking versatility, Talbi could become a key asset in Morocco’s offensive lineup. His first appearances for the national team—particularly in the upcoming matches against Tanzania and Niger—will be closely watched. At just 18 years old, he has the potential to become a future star for Morocco.

Morocco continues to attract top binational talents, strengthening an ambitious long-term project. Chemsdine Talbi is the latest in a growing list of young players choosing the Atlas Lions, highlighting the federation’s successful strategy in securing elite dual-national prospects.
