Morocco is taking a significant step in enhancing its air links with the United States. The Moroccan National Tourist Office (ONMT) has announced a strategic partnership with Delta Air Lines to launch a direct flight connecting Atlanta and Marrakech, set to begin in October 2025. This development reinforces Morocco’s position as a prime destination for North American travelers.

As Delta Air Lines’ primary hub and the world’s busiest airport in terms of connectivity, Atlanta will serve as a major gateway, linking Morocco to 125 U.S. cities. Partnering with one of the oldest and most influential airlines in the United States, this initiative is expected to drive a significant influx of tourists to Marrakech while strengthening economic and tourism ties between the two nations.

The introduction of this route is the result of years of strategic efforts by ONMT’s New York delegation, which has been actively promoting Morocco as a must-visit destination for North American travelers. With this addition, Marrakech joins Casablanca (served by Royal Air Maroc) and Montreal (via Air Transat) as the third Moroccan city with direct connections to the U.S. and Canada.

The American market represents a tremendous opportunity, with approximately 125 million international travelers each year. Interest in Morocco among U.S. tourists has been growing steadily, with 402,377 American visitors recorded in 2024—a 7% increase from 2023—and an impressive 31% surge in January 2025 alone. ONMT has set an ambitious goal: surpassing one million American tourists.

This new route will operate three times a week using a Boeing 767-400 with a capacity of 238 passengers, further expanding the flight options between the U.S. and Morocco. Currently, Royal Air Maroc already provides direct flights to Casablanca from New York, Washington, and Miami. The addition of the Atlanta-Marrakech route will make it even easier for American travelers to reach one of Morocco’s most iconic cities while benefiting from Delta Air Lines’ extensive loyalty programs.

By establishing this new air bridge between North America and Morocco, ONMT continues its mission to position the country among the world’s top tourist destinations. With the “Kingdom of Light” now more accessible than ever, American travelers will have a direct gateway to Morocco’s rich culture, history, and vibrant landscapes.
