Expo 2020 Dubai: Morocco Opens Climate & Biodiversity Week with Side-event on Power-to-X Green Hydrogen

The Research Institute for Solar Energy and New Energies (IRESEN) took part in Expo 2020 Dubai during the first thematic week dedicated to climate and biodiversity, by organizing Thursday a side event on green hydrogen, under the title “Green Hydrogen: Key to Decarbonizing the Economy?”.

In a press release, IRESEN said that several experts participated in the meeting and discussed the major challenges facing the deployment of the Power-to-X sector in order to accelerate the decarbonization of economies, stressing that the Institute, the Moroccan Agency for Energy Efficiency (AMEE) and the GreenH2 Cluster highlighted the potential and ambitions of Morocco in terms of production, use and export of hydrogen and competitive green molecules.

They also discussed the actions of the National Hydrogen Commission coordinated by the Ministry in charge of Energy and the effective launch of the GreenH2 Cluster, while highlighting the efforts of the private sector and synergies with the various stakeholders, the presentation the first pilot projects launched by IRESEN, the Mohammed VI Polytechnic University and their partners, as well as the GreenH2A research platform, the source added.

The organization of the annual “World Power-To-X Summit” event, the second edition of which will be held in early December 2021 in Marrakech, was also put forward on this occasion.

Several representatives of companies and of national and international organizations participated in this event, which was a great success, thanks to the richness of the debates and presentations made by the various speakers, according to the Institute.
