A Government Council meeting will be held on Thursday, chaired by Prime Minister Aziz Akhannouch, according to a statement from his department.

At the start of the meeting, the Council will hear a presentation by the Minister of Justice on the initial report concerning the implementation of the International Convention for the Protection of All Persons from Enforced Disappearance and the fifth periodic report on the implementation of the Convention Against Torture.

Following this, the Minister of Economy and Finance will present the key updates to be introduced in the law related to credit institutions and similar entities, as well as the law governing the status of Bank Al-Maghrib, aimed at addressing potential crises in credit institutions.

The Council will then review two draft decrees. The first decree concerns the determination of types and amounts of scholarships for boarding schools and school canteens in public education and teaching institutions, as well as the conditions for eligibility. The second decree involves amendments to the decree establishing the National Grand Prize for Journalism.

The meeting will conclude with the examination of proposals for appointments to senior positions, in accordance with Article 92 of the Constitution.
