Abdelkebir Ouaddar is the new senior show jumping champion after winning the Grand Prix of King Mohammed VI at the 41st Horse Week in Rabat. Riding CHACSARA for the Princess Lalla Fatima Zohra Equestrian Centre, Ouaddar won the title after a two-round final at the Dar Es Salam arena.

Mohammed Azoum finished second on SIENNA AEG for the Royal Cavalry School of Dar Es Salam. Ghali Boukaa took third on IKE 1348 for Étrier de Casablanca.

Moulay Abdallah Alaoui, president of the Royal Moroccan Federation of Equestrian Sports (FRMSE), presented the trophies and medals after the final day of competition.

Faysal Bicha won the Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan Prize in the under-13 category.

Riding D’ANGEL LA TUILERIE for Étrier de Casablanca, he produced two clear rounds before winning the jump-off in 35.93 seconds.

Mehdi Zahrane, riding ELINE for Bouskoura Equestrian City, finished second with four penalty points in 36.29 seconds.

Farouk Bensalah claimed bronze on CON TENOR for Étrier de Casablanca after finishing with four penalty points in 36.56 seconds.

This year’s Horse Week was held under the High Patronage of King Mohammed VI. The event brought together nearly 400 horse-and-rider combinations across 20 national championships in show jumping and dressage.

The programme included championships for Special Olympics, Dressage A, B and C, Pony Dressage A, B and C, Club Show Jumping, Senior, Senior Amateur, Senior Intermediate, Amateur, Military, and youth show jumping competitions in the U21, U18, U13, Pony A, Pony B and Pony C categories.

The event also featured six evening sessions that attracted large crowds.

The FRMSE offered free entry throughout the week, giving spectators access to the competitions, the Children’s Village, the Exhibitors’ Village and other entertainment areas.
