The Kingdom of Jordan has expressed its regret over Algeria’s decision to sever diplomatic relations with the Kingdom of Morocco.

The Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates expressed, in a statement, its regret over the recent developments in relations between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Algerian Republic, which have deteriorated to such an extent that Algeria has taken the decision to sever diplomatic relations with Morocco.

The Ministry called for dialogue and to resolve all disputes between the Kingdom of Morocco and Algeria to bring relations between the two countries to their normal status. It also expressed the hope that dialogue will prevail to resolve all disputes and bring relations back to their normal status, so as to enhance security, stability and prosperity in the region and consolidate the important role of both countries in joint Arab action.

The Kingdom of Jordan constantly watches over the strengthening of common Arab action, the conciliation between all the brothers and the perpetuation of communication and dialogue, in the service of the interests of all brothers and Arab causes, said the same source.

On Tuesday, Algeria unilaterally announced the severance of its diplomatic relations with Morocco.
