The Minister of Industry and Trade, Ryad Mezzour, and the President and Founder of the KITEA Group, Amine Benkirane, signed a partnership agreement for the development of local sourcing, on Friday, September 23, 2022, in Casablanca.

  This partnership aims to meet the needs of the local market through a continuous process of import substitution aimed at developing local products and promoting local manufacturing. Thus, KITEA will increase the rate of its sourcing in Morocco in industrial products marketed by the network to 38% instead of 19% and will double its exports of products “Made in Morocco” to the international market, including the African continent.
“The development of sourcing from local manufacturers is a perfect response to the King’s Royal Vision to revive the productive sectors and strengthen the industrial and commercial sovereignty of our country.
Today,we are signing the third partnership agreement with a locomotive of the trade sector for the development of local sourcing “Made in Morocco” and the first with a specialized chain, national leader in furniture and decoration, “said the Minister. “This agreement is the perfect translation of a winning and fruitful public/private partnership aimed at making “Made in Morocco” a guarantee of quality and competitiveness, to accelerate the integration of the Moroccan offer in regional and global chains
  Under this agreement, KITEA undertakes to identify and communicate to the Ministry the categories of products likely to be the subject of local sourcing and to adapt its commercial policy for the support and referencing of national manufacturers. Also, a steering committee and a monitoring committee have been established to ensure coordination and operational monitoring of this agreement.

For its part, the Ministry offers its support to the group KITEA to facilitate the work of prospecting KITEA through contact with various national manufacturers. The group will also benefit from the support programs set up by the Ministry under the “Export Task Force”, for the promotion of exports.

Were attending this event the main industrialists already accompanying the group KITEA, as well as the President of the CGEM and several Presidents of Federations acting in industries that can support the ecosystem that Mr. Minister intends to create in the trades of furniture and decoration.

  At the same time and after presenting the development plan 2022-2024 of the group KITEA on Morocco and Africa, the Minister visited the new platform KSH (KITEA Smart hub) built on an area of 45,000 m2. This logistics center of the last generation that meets international standards, will allow the group to strengthen its national network and initiate a program of continental expansion. The latter required an investment of + 300 million dhs and has created more than 300 direct jobs.
