MEDZ showcased agri-food leadership at Morocco’s SIAM

At the International Agricultural Show in Morocco (SIAM), held in Meknès from April 21 to 27, MEDZ, a subsidiary of CDG Development, showcased its pivotal role in shaping the country’s agri-food industry. As a partner of the event, which took place under the High Patronage of King Mohammed VI, the company highlighted its achievements, particularly through the development of four agri-business hubs located in Meknès, Berkane, Agadir, and Larache.

During the opening ceremony, presided over by Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan, Khalid Safir, CEO of CDG, outlined MEDZ’s contributions. Designed to meet international standards, these agropoles have attracted more than 300 industrial units, created over 27,700 jobs, and drawn investments totaling 5.6 billion dirhams. The projects established within these hubs span the entire agri-food value chain, from agricultural supplies to irrigation equipment.

Occupying a 225-square-meter space in the Institutional Pavilion, MEDZ teams engaged with investors and partners, presenting the wide range of opportunities these platforms offer. At a roundtable organized by the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Morocco, MEDZ detailed the key advantages of its agropoles: strategic locations, strong connectivity, a skilled workforce, investment incentives, and comprehensive support services.

Meanwhile, a delegation of Ivorian farmers and French investors toured the Meknès Agropolis, where they explored the facilities and heard firsthand experiences from businesses already operating within the hub.

Looking ahead, MEDZ is continuing its expansion with new development phases underway in Berkane and Larache, alongside a planned extension of the Meknès Agropolis. This ambitious program aims to boost the competitiveness of Morocco’s agri-food sectors and foster the growth of a resilient, innovative industrial ecosystem.
