Morocco recorded 951 new COVID-19 cases over the past 24 hours, while 498 patients have recovered, the ministry of Health said Saturday.

The number of people vaccinated to date (1st dose) has reached 10,064,283 while 9,161,960 people have been fully vaccinated (1st and second dose), the ministry pointed out in its daily COVID-19 bulletin.

The total number of COVID-19 cases reported since the start of the outbreak of the virus rises to 533,945 while the number of recoveries increased to 519,139 which corresponds to a recovery rate of 97.2%. The total number of coronavirus-related deaths rises to 9,315, with eight new cases recorded in the past day in the regions of Casablanca-Settat (2), Marrakech-Safi (2), Souss-Massa (1), Laayoune-Sakia El Hamra (1), Fez-Meknes (1) and Guelmim-Oued Noun (1).

The new COVID-19 cases were reported in the regions of Casablanca-Settat (403), Rabat-Salé-Kenitra (184), Marrakech-Safi (106), Souss-Massa (102), Laayoune-Sakia El Hamra (39), Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (39), Fez-Meknes (34), Draa-Tafilalet (14), Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (9), Guelmim-Oued Noun (8), Beni Mellal-Khenifra (7) and the Oriental (6).

The number of active cases has reached 5,491 including 242 in a critical or severe condition, the ministry added.
