Money transfers from Moroccans residing abroad (MRE) reached over 68.13 billion dirhams (MMDH) by the end of July 2024, compared to 65.95 MMDH during the same period in 2023, according to the Office des Changes. This represents an increase of 3.3% (+2.18 MMDH) compared to the first seven months of the previous year.
In its latest bulletin on external trade indicators, the Office des Changes highlights a decline in the service balance surplus, down 4.1% to 71.709 MMDH. This reduction is attributed to a significant rise in service imports (+11.1%) that outpaced the growth in service exports (+3.3%).
As for travel revenues, they amounted to 59.39 MMDH by the end of July 2024, while travel-related expenses were recorded at 16.92 MMDH.
