Akdital, Morocco’s leading private healthcare provider, is charting a bold new course beyond its borders. After generating nearly 2.9 billion dirhams in revenue in 2024, the company is now turning its focus toward international growth, targeting two of the Middle East’s most dynamic markets: the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia. By 2027, Akdital plans to launch four medical facilities across both countries as part of its ambitious expansion.

The first phase will unfold in Dubai, a booming metropolis with a well-insured population and a rising demand for premium healthcare services. Despite its rapid development, the city still suffers from a low hospital bed density—fewer than one per 1,000 residents—a critical gap that Akdital sees as an opportunity. The group is eyeing the southern part of the city for its initial footprint, close to the expanding Al Maktoum International Airport, a strategic location poised to capture a high-growth segment of the market.

Meanwhile, Akdital is also setting its sights on Riyadh, the Saudi capital, where two additional facilities are planned. Similar to Dubai, Riyadh is experiencing explosive population growth and a chronic shortfall in healthcare infrastructure. With just one hospital bed per 1,000 inhabitants, the city presents a promising frontier for Akdital, especially amid Saudi Arabia’s ongoing push to attract private investment in the healthcare sector through favorable public policies.

Akdital’s international rollout is built on a model that has proven successful at home. The group will retain control of operational subsidiaries (OpCo), while partnering with specialized developers to manage the real estate assets (PropCo). The total investment is projected to hit 1 billion dirhams, with all four sites expected to be fully operational within the next two years.

By 2030, Akdital hopes to generate 20% of its revenue from international operations, a move that would cement its standing as a major player not just in Morocco, but across the broader African and Middle Eastern healthcare landscape.
