A total of 1,336 new cases of coronavirus (Covid-19) infection and 706 recoveries have been recorded in Morocco over the past 24 hours, the Ministry of Health said Thursday.

The number of primary vaccinated people is 10,317,807, while the number of fully vaccinated people (1st and 2nd doses) stands at 9,213,535, said the Ministry in its daily report on the situation of Covid-19.

The new cases bring to 538,589 the total number of infections since the first case was reported in Morocco in March 2020. The number of people who have recovered has risen to 522,377, representing a cure rate of 97%.

The new infections were recorded in the regions of Casablanca-Settat (511), Rabat-Sale-Kenitra (231), Souss-Massa and Marrakech-Safi (181), Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (58), Fez-Meknes (49), Draa-Tafilalet (34), Beni Mellal-Khenifra (27), Laayoune-Sakia El Hamra (24), the Eastern region (22), Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (13) and Guelmim-Oued Noun (05).

As for deaths, their total number rose to 9,346 with 5 new fatalities, recorded in the regions of Casablanca-Settat (01), Rabat-Sale-Kenitra (01), Souss-Massa (02) and the Eastern region (01).

The number of active cases has reached 6,866 including 282 in a critical or severe condition.
