A total of 3,897 new cases of coronavirus infection (Covid-19) and 5,886 recoveries have been recorded in Morocco in the last 24 hours, the ministry of Health said on Monday.
The number of people who got the first shot is 16,493,799, while that of fully vaccinated people (1st and 2nd doses) stands at 11,640,441, the ministry said in its daily report on the Covid-19 situation.
The new figure brings to 763,353 the total number of contaminations since the first case reported in Morocco in March 2020. The number of people who have recovered rose to 673,116, a recovery rate of 88.2%.
The new contaminations were identified in the regions of Rabat-Sale-Kenitra (1,120), Souss-Massa (555), Casablanca-Settat (463), the Eastern region (428), Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (332), Marrakech-Safi (326), Beni Mellal-Khenifra (207), Draa-Tafilalet (145), Fez-Meknes (130), Guelmim-Oued Noun (91), Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (75) and Laayoune-Sakia El Hamra (25).
As for deaths, their total number rose to 11,119 (fatality rate of 1.5%), with 102 new cases recorded in the regions of Casablanca-Settat (21), Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (14), Beni Mellal-Khenifra (13), Souss-Massa (12), Marrakech-Safi (10), the Eastern region (9), Rabat-Sale-Kenitra (7), Fez-Meknes (6), Draa-Tafilalet (6), Guelmim-Oued Noun (3) and Laayoune Sakia El Hamra (1).
The number of active cases is 79,118, while severe or critical cases reached 2,356, of which 81 are placed under intubation.
