Morocco is making significant strides in its digital transformation, particularly in the business sector. The Moroccan Office of Industrial and Commercial Property (OMPIC) has announced the nationwide rollout of its online business creation platform, a major step forward that simplifies the process of starting a company and enhances the country’s business-friendly environment.

Available through www.directentreprise.ma, this platform serves as a centralized digital hub where entrepreneurs can complete all the necessary administrative procedures to establish a business. It connects users with key institutions, including OMPIC, the Ministry of Justice, the General Secretariat of the Government, the General Directorate of Taxes (DGI), and the National Social Security Fund (CNSS).

The goal is clear: to streamline bureaucracy and significantly reduce the time required to launch a business. Thanks to this platform, entrepreneurs can now complete the entire registration process online, eliminating the need for multiple trips between different government offices.

This initiative was first introduced in February 2023 as a pilot program in Rabat, where it was tested by industry professionals such as notaries, lawyers, and accountants. Following its initial success, the platform was gradually expanded in 2024 to major cities, including Casablanca, Marrakech, Agadir, Tangier, Fès, Oujda, Laâyoune, Béni Mellal, and Dakhla. Now, the digital service has been extended to the entire country.

The numbers reflect its growing adoption: more than 12,000 businesses have already been registered through the platform, and over 2,400 professionals have signed up to assist entrepreneurs in navigating the process.

Implementing this system required legal adjustments, leading to several key reforms, including three new laws and two decrees. Among them, Law 88.17 establishes the framework for electronic business registration and support, while Law 89.17 modernizes the Commercial Code.

These legislative changes are part of a broader effort by the Moroccan government to modernize its administration and attract investment. The project is the result of close collaboration between OMPIC and various government bodies, including the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Justice, and the Ministry of Economy and Finance.
