Casablanca’s Mohammed V Airport has taken a major step forward this weekend by eliminating the double passport check, thanks to the introduction of automated e-gates. This modernization aims to streamline the flow of international passengers and will gradually be implemented across all airports in Morocco by June 2025.

Until now, travelers had to present their passports twice—once for stamping and then again for an additional verification, a process that often led to long wait times. With the new e-gates, security checks are now faster and more efficient, reducing lines and enhancing the overall passenger experience.

This initiative is the result of collaboration between key government agencies, including the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN), the Directorate of Immigration and Border Surveillance within the Ministry of the Interior, and the National Airports Authority (ONDA). Their shared goal is to modernize airport infrastructure while maintaining a balance between efficiency and security.

Following its rollout at Mohammed V Airport, the system will be gradually extended to all airports nationwide before the summer of 2025. This upgrade is a crucial step in Morocco’s “Airports 2030” strategy, which aims to support the growth of international air traffic through advanced technological solutions.

With these new systems in place, Morocco is reaffirming its commitment to innovation and efficiency in its airport network—improving passenger convenience while strengthening the country’s position as a competitive global travel hub.
