Morocco’s tourism sector is hitting new highs, welcoming 4 million visitors by the end of March 2025—a surge of 22% compared to the same period last year. The figures, released by the Ministry of Tourism, Handicrafts, and Social and Solidarity Economy, confirm the country’s growing appeal as a year-round travel destination.
This impressive growth cements Morocco’s reputation as one of the region’s most dynamic and versatile destinations. The upward trend began early in the year and has shown no signs of slowing, according to the ministry’s statement.
What stands out is the balance between international tourists and members of the Moroccan diaspora. Of the 4 million arrivals, 2.1 million came from abroad, while 1.9 million were Moroccans living overseas. This blend reflects the diversity of the country’s tourism offerings, catering to a broad range of travelers with varying interests and expectations.
March was particularly noteworthy. Despite coinciding with the holy month of Ramadan—which typically sees a dip in travel activity—Morocco still recorded around 1.4 million visitors, marking a 17% increase over March 2024.
Tourism Minister Fatim-Zahra Ammor highlighted that this continued growth is no accident. “These numbers speak to the deep transformation of Morocco’s tourism experience. We’ve evolved and adapted to meet the expectations of increasingly discerning travelers,” she said.
The country’s ability to reinvent its tourism model—embracing both tradition and modernity—appears to be paying off, positioning Morocco as a top-tier destination capable of attracting visitors year-round, regardless of the season or global conditions.
