Funds transferred by Moroccans Residing Abroad (MRE) totaled 36.79 billion dirhams (MMDH) by the end of April 2024, up from 35.95 billion dirhams at the end of April 2023, according to the Office des Changes.
This marks a 2.4% increase, equivalent to 845 million dirhams (MDH), as detailed in the Office des Changes’ monthly bulletin on external trade indicators for April.
Additionally, travel revenues reached 7.93 billion dirhams in April 2024, compared to 7.17 billion dirhams in April 2023, reflecting a 10.6% rise. For the first four months of 2024, travel revenues remained nearly stable at 31.87 billion dirhams.
Meanwhile, travel expenditures stood at 2.22 billion dirhams in April 2024, down from 2.40 billion dirhams the previous year, marking a 7.5% decrease. Over the first four months of 2024, travel expenditures amounted to 9.99 billion dirhams.
