A thorough inspection of the Bouassame Dam has confirmed that there are no safety risks despite the recent heavy rainfall. A team of experts from the Ministry of Equipment and Water conducted an on-site assessment to evaluate the structure’s condition.

The findings were reassuring. No signs of instability or foundation seepage were detected. Additionally, tests on the bottom outlet valves confirmed they are in perfect working order. The only observation was water runoff on the downstream face of the dam, a normal occurrence that does not pose any threat to its stability.

Located in the province of Al Hoceima, the Bouassame Dam has a storage capacity of 100,000 cubic meters and has been in operation since 2015. Its design and maintenance are governed by Law No. 30.15, which ensures strict monitoring of hydraulic infrastructure.

The Ministry of Equipment and Water reaffirmed its commitment to dam safety, emphasizing the importance of continuous monitoring and regular inspections to guarantee the reliability of these critical structures.
