A long-anticipated milestone in Morocco’s healthcare modernization has been reached with the launch of the digital child health record, following the directives of Her Royal Highness Princess Lalla Meryem, President of the National Observatory for Children’s Rights (ONDE).
The announcement was made on Monday, February 24, 2025, during the Maghreb School and University Health Days, which this year focused on the importance of school vaccination.
This ambitious and innovative initiative, spearheaded by ONDE in partnership with key institutions—including the Population Directorate of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection, as well as various pediatric scientific societies—aims to provide real-time access to children’s vaccination history and medical consultations for both parents and healthcare professionals.
Beyond simply digitizing health records, the project offers automated reminders for vaccinations and medical check-ups, ensuring better prevention and timely interventions. Additionally, the platform will serve as an educational and advisory tool, providing tailored health guidance, particularly in mental health. It will focus on raising awareness and preventing neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism, learning disabilities, and ADHD.
This initiative marks a major step forward in child healthcare, improving accessibility, efficiency, and preventive care through technology, reinforcing Morocco’s commitment to protecting and promoting children’s well-being.
