Royal Air Maroc (RAM) and GOL Linhas Aéreas, Brazil’s largest airline, have signed a landmark codeshare agreement to enhance travel connections between São Paulo and Casablanca (CMN), opening new horizons for their customers. This partnership strengthens the ties between Morocco and Brazil, providing seamless travel options across two continents.
The agreement offers significant benefits for travelers. Customers of GOL can now explore Morocco’s iconic cities, including Marrakech, Agadir, Tangier, Fes, Ouarzazate, and Dakhla, while RAM passengers gain access to Brazil’s bustling destinations such as Rio de Janeiro, Brasilia, and Porto Alegre. GOL will also provide interline flights to over 20 African destinations through RAM’s extensive network, allowing travelers to explore even more of the continent with ease.
Celso Ferrer, CEO of GOL, described the partnership as an exciting opportunity to bridge new worlds for their customers, connecting Brazilian cities to Casablanca and expanding travel options to Africa’s vibrant destinations. Abdelhamid Addou, CEO of Royal Air Maroc, expressed similar enthusiasm, calling the collaboration a critical step in responding to the growing demand in African and Latin American markets. He highlighted how the agreement enriches travel experiences while bolstering economic and cultural ties between Brazil and Morocco.
Passengers will benefit from a streamlined travel experience. The codeshare allows for a single-ticket booking process in local currency and ensures seamless connections with baggage checked through to the final destination. In addition, customers will soon be able to earn and redeem loyalty points through RAM’s Safar Flyer and GOL’s Smiles programs.
Royal Air Maroc currently operates three weekly flights between São Paulo and Casablanca on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, with return flights from Casablanca on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. These routes, served by Boeing 787 Dreamliners, offer passengers comfort and convenience. Over time, RAM and GOL plan to expand the agreement to include additional destinations across South America and Africa, further enhancing their global reach.
This codeshare strengthens GOL’s presence in the African market, making it the leading Brazilian airline connecting the two continents. Similarly, Royal Air Maroc gains a stronger foothold in Latin America, a market with increasing potential. By uniting their networks, the two airlines aim to provide travelers with expanded options while fostering closer ties between Brazil and Morocco.
The collaboration marks a significant step forward for both airlines, as they work together to bring continents closer and offer passengers unparalleled travel opportunities.
