Royal Air Maroc launches record summer schedule with over 6.6 million seats

The direct São Paulo-Casablanca route, relaunched by Royal Air Maroc (RAM) in December 2024, has been a resounding success, achieving a high load factor of 85-88%. In response to this strong demand, the airline is considering increasing flight frequency to five or six times per week by late 2025 or early 2026.

At the same time, RAM is exploring the reopening of its Rio de Janeiro route, which was suspended in 2020 due to the pandemic. This move aims to strengthen connectivity between Africa and South America, addressing the growing demand for strategic intercontinental travel.

The Casablanca-São Paulo route remains the only direct air link between Morocco and Latin America, playing a crucial role in boosting trade and cultural exchanges. It also serves as a key hub for connecting passengers to other destinations in Africa and Europe. According to RAM, 90% of Brazilian travelers on this route continue their journey to European destinations, while the remaining 10% fly to various African countries, including Morocco.

By reestablishing the Rio de Janeiro connection, RAM aims to broaden its network and meet the increasing demand for flights between South America and Africa. This expansion highlights the airline’s commitment to adapting its services to travelers’ evolving needs and strengthening its role as a key link between continents.
