The 6th edition of “Dakhla Downwind Challenge”, a sporting event which consists in reaching Lagouira by kitesurfing from Dakhla, kicked off on Saturday.
Placed under the High Patronage of HM King Mohammed VI, this sporting event is initiated by the Moroccan Kitesurfing Association (AMKS), under the aegis of the Royal Moroccan Sailing Federation (FRMV), in partnership with the region’s wilaya.
This event, to run until August 20, is part of the festivities marking the celebration of the 42nd anniversary of the recovery of the province of Oued Eddahab. It aims to create a new dynamic in Dakhla, which has recently become a favorite destination for kitesurfing enthusiasts and professionals.
Throughout this 500 km coastal journey between Dakhla and Lagouira, participants will have the opportunity to discover the landscapes, the sand dunes and the paradisiacal beaches of southern Morocco.
