For the first time ever, Morocco has hosted the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA), thanks to an initiative led by the Moroccan Agency for Tourism Development (SMIT). The event, held as a strategic summit, was designed to spark international investment in Morocco’s growing leisure and entertainment sector.
Structured as a series of meetings between investors, industry operators, and entertainment professionals, the summit aligns with Morocco’s broader tourism strategy. The country aims to diversify its tourism offerings and position itself as a prime destination for high-value leisure projects that go beyond traditional sightseeing.
By focusing on the leisure segment, SMIT hopes to boost Morocco’s appeal not just through its rich cultural and natural heritage, but by developing world-class attractions and experiences. Entertainment infrastructure and tourism-related activities are seen as powerful tools to elevate the visitor experience, create local jobs, and generate sustainable economic growth across regions.
The IAAPA Morocco Summit represents a key milestone in the country’s efforts to strengthen its presence in the global tourism investment landscape. By showcasing its readiness to host bold, innovative leisure ventures, Morocco is signaling its ambition to become a major player in the international amusement and attractions industry.
