A delegation from the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria recently visited Ibn Zohr University in Agadir, continuing the enhancement of academic relations between Morocco and Spain.

During this visit, both universities reviewed ongoing projects and shared key statistics about their institutions. This included information on the number of schools and students, available programs, organized events, research facilities, and collaborative projects, according to a statement from Ibn Zohr University on Wednesday.

Discussions emphasized the importance of establishing new joint projects across various fields such as tourism, medicine, law, agriculture, environment, industry, arts, information technology, and education. The deans and directors of Ibn Zohr University each presented their respective institutions and future ambitions, showcasing the university’s broad spectrum of academic offerings and strategic goals.

The delegation from the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, including its Rector and the Dean of the Faculty of Economics, Commerce, and Tourism, toured the Souss Massa Innovation City. This visit underscored Ibn Zohr University’s commitment to scientific research, innovation, and regional economic development.

Additionally, the Spanish delegation visited the “Code 212” coding center, Morocco’s first of its kind established by Ibn Zohr University, as well as the Agadir University Hospital Center and the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy. These visits facilitated discussions on current initiatives and future projects in medical education and training.
