Al Akhawayn University in Ifrane (AUI) has joined forces with Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P) to launch a new master’s degree in High-Performance Computing for AI, starting the academic year of 2021-2022.

The program aims to develop R&D in the financial and medical fields and to train big data specialists in the development of AI models for different national industries, AUI says in a release.

This Master aims to train future specialists to design, develop, and deliver advanced AI models from big data for the growing needs of several national industries. This collaboration materializes one of the main axes of the strategic partnership between the two institutions, signed in September 2020.

The new master’s program will capitalize on the computing power offered by the Toubkal supercomputer of the UM6P and the expertise of the two university centers in this area – AI and High-Performance Computing (HPC), for deep learning and digital simulation, the source points out.

In addition to the master’s program, Al Akhawayn School of Science and Engineering will welcome cohorts from three new master’s programs that cover the areas of big data, digital transformation, and Fintech.

This offer responds to the dynamics of the job market boosted by the growing demand for qualified resources in the digital field.

“The choice of these cutting-edge specializations is part of the strategy of Al Akhawayn University which aims to respond to the dynamics of the job market, whose pool linked to digital profiles is under strong pressure under the effect of the boom observed in projects linked to digital transformation, both in Morocco and internationally,” specifies the Dean of the SSE, Prof. Tajjeeddine Rachidi.

AUI’s Language Center will offer intensive sessions for future registrants to help them strengthen their English language skills.
