The Fédération Royale Marocaine de Football has signed a deal with Google Gemini, making it the official artificial intelligence sponsor of the national team as Morocco prepares for its next set of matches between May and July.

The agreement, announced on 12 May 2026, aims to use AI tools to promote the Morocco national football team in Morocco and abroad. It also fits into a wider national approach focused on sport, youth and technology under Mohammed VI.

The goal is to modernise how football is supported and followed, with better tools for fans, players and coaches. It also hopes to raise Morocco’s profile as a key football hub in Africa and beyond.

Fans will soon see new digital features linked to the partnership. They will be able to use Gemini tools to create custom support images using the “Nano Banana” text to image model, and even generate songs for the Lions of Atlas using the “Lyria” music tool.

There will also be tools for understanding football better. Fans can use Google Gemini to learn the rules, look at match performance and even make predictions about games.

Najeeb Jarrar, regional product and marketing director for Google in the Middle East and Africa, said:

“Google is delighted to support the Moroccan national team during this historic chapter of its journey. Through Google Gemini, we seek to harness the power of artificial intelligence to enrich the fan experience and celebrate the rich heritage of Moroccan football. This partnership goes beyond technology; it aims to bring people closer to the sports they love in a deeper and more meaningful way.”

The move marks a shift in Moroccan football, with artificial intelligence becoming part of how the game is experienced, analysed and enjoyed.
