Casablanca is about to turn into a busy meeting point for the beauty world. From 16 to 19 May, industry professionals from across Africa and beyond will gather for the ninth COSMETISTA EXPO North & West Africa.

The event comes as Morocco pushes to become a key hub for the cosmetics industry in Africa, connecting international brands with fast-growing demand across the continent.

Companies from France, Italy, South Korea, China and Saudi Arabia will take part. Delegations from Senegal, Côte d’Ivoire and Nigeria are expected, along with buyers from Asia and the Americas.

A major focus this year is a 500-square-metre “Made in Morocco” area dedicated to local producers. It will showcase the full chain of production, from raw materials and lab research to eco-friendly packaging and dermo-cosmetic technology. The initiative fits into a wider national plan backed by the Ministry of Industry and Commerce to grow the local industry.

Regulation of the sector is also getting stricter. The Moroccan Agency for Medicines and Health Products is increasing its role to push higher quality and safety standards and help Moroccan products compete internationally.

The expo will be held at the Office des Foires et Expositions de Casablanca, opposite the Hassan II Mosque. It runs daily from 10:00 to 19:00 and entry is free for professionals who register online.

Around 4,500 square metres of exhibition space will host hundreds of brands. Visitors will find hairdressing tools, beauty equipment, spa furniture and training services, as well as natural cosmetics, perfumes, nutricosmetics, lab equipment and packaging solutions.

The programme includes live demonstrations, workshops and conferences on topics such as eco-friendly packaging, digital customer experience and new technologies. A dedicated business hub will host meetings between manufacturers, distributors and retailers.

The event targets distributors and retailers searching for new brands, spa and salon owners looking for new equipment, laboratories and manufacturers focused on materials and packaging, and tech innovators working on clean beauty and dermo-cosmetics.
