Morocco have climbed to sixth in the latest FIFA men’s world rankings after reaching the quarter-finals of the 2026 World Cup.

The team moved up one place from seventh and now have 1,803.99 points. In the previous rankings, published on 11 June, Morocco had 1,755 points. Their World Cup run earned them an extra 48.99 points.

The Atlas Lions reached the quarter-finals after another strong World Cup campaign before losing in the last eight.

The latest rankings also keep Morocco as Africa’s highest-ranked team. Senegal are 18th, Egypt 24th, Nigeria 26th, Algeria 29th and Ivory Coast 31st.

Morocco also remain the highest-ranked Arab side. Egypt are 24th, Algeria 29th, Tunisia 57th, Saudi Arabia 58th and Qatar 59th.
