Women in Rehamna were offered medical consultations and information about breast and cervical cancer during a medical caravan organised by Siemens Healthineers Morocco and the Médec In Casablanca association on 17 October 2026. The initiative, called Closer to Women, United Against Cancer, was part of the Pink October campaign, which raises awareness of women’s cancers. It aimed to bring healthcare services closer to local communities, with a focus on people who face difficulties accessing medical care.
The caravan brought together healthcare professionals to provide consultations, information and cancer awareness activities.
It included gynaecological consultations, with an ultrasound scanner made available to healthcare professionals to help them carry out certain medical examinations. Children could also receive paediatric consultations.
A separate area was set up to inform people about breast and cervical cancer and explain the importance of prevention and early diagnosis.
Women whose cases required further investigation could be referred to radiology centres for additional examinations.
Najwa Bensaid, communications director at Siemens Healthineers Morocco, told Santé Mag that the caravan combined medical consultations with awareness activities focused on women’s cancers.
She said the initiative aimed to reach as many people as possible by bringing healthcare services directly to communities that need them.
The campaign also highlighted the difficulties some people face in accessing healthcare. Long distances to medical facilities, travel costs and limited access to specialised examinations can delay diagnosis and treatment.
Medical caravans can help people see healthcare professionals closer to home, but further tests and continued medical follow-up remain essential to ensure patients receive appropriate care.
