The General Directorate of Taxes (DGI) has released a simplified tax guide designed specifically for Moroccans residing abroad (MRE). This user-friendly document provides an overview of key tax regulations, although it does not replace the actual legislative and regulatory texts currently in force.
Key tax provisions highlighted
The guide covers important areas such as registration and stamp duties, value-added tax (VAT), and income tax (IR). It also addresses the social solidarity contribution on self-delivery for main residence construction and the VAT refund (DETAXE) for non-residents on goods and merchandise purchased within Morocco.
Enhanced services for taxpayers
The DGI emphasizes the establishment of regional, provincial, and prefectural assistance and communication services across all regions of the Kingdom. These services aim to provide tailored, high-quality support to taxpayers. Additionally, the DGI offers a telephone information center (0537 273727) and online assistance via “[email protected]” to further aid taxpayers.
